One home based work opportunity you might want to consider is writing “how to” articles for eHow.com. I have written a couple hundred articles for eHow.com, and it has been an interesting experience, to say the least. My passive income plateaued for a few months, but for the most part it has gone up slowly but steadily. I did the bulk of my writing there in the beginning of 2009 and have only added a few articles in recent months because the company has been experiencing some problems with the publishing tool. This means that it has become a source of genuine passive income (also known as residual income).

Of course, the more articles you write, the better you will do at eHow. The site is currently undergoing some changes and refining their submission guidelines, so if you do start writing articles there, you will want to look very closely at these modifications to make sure everything you write for them meets their criteria. The site’s editors really only want very clear and precise step by step “how to” articles. They don’t want pieces that are purely informational in nature. The articles must instruct readers about how to execute a particular task or project. (Articles that do not adhere to the submission guidelines may be deleted.)

One of the greatest aspects of eHow is the fact that it has an extremely active forum frequented by a nice mix of veteran and newby eHow writers. The eHow vets are extremely generous with their time and knowledge and they have a LOT of knowledge to impart. There are a couple of writers who have written free guides (one goes by the screen name of Desolator144 and the other is David Sarokin.) If you visit their profiles on the eHow site, you should be able to find the links to their free eHow ebooks. There are also people who have written eHow ebooks that are not free, but the free ones provide a lot of information, too. Between the free eHow ebooks and the forums (along with reading the revised submission guidelines VERY carefully), you will definitely have enough information to take the plunge into this particular home based work opportunity.
