Whether you are writing a resume for a traditional job or for a home based work opportunity, you need to make your resume as professional, clean, clear and concise as you possibly can. You will want to keep it short but if you have a lot of experience, it is acceptable for your resume to exceed one page. (On the other hand, if you do not have a great deal of work experience, a one page resume is usually appropriate.)

For a work at home job, you will probably be applying online, so you will want to be sure that your resume looks good online. Don’t ever lie or falsify any information that you include on your resume, but do be sure to present yourself in a positive way. Proofread your resume several times and ask one or two people you trust to look it over to make sure that it is error-free. Don’t compose your resume in a tone that can come across as boastful. It is okay to sound confident, but you never want to come across as arrogant. You also don’t want to use language that is too frilly or flowery. State your case as cleanly and concisely as possible.

Review several different resume templates before writing your own. There are many available online. If you want, you can always consult with a professional resume writer. Many charge reasonable rates, and a lot of people think that this is a worthwhile investment in your professional future. If your resume does run to more than one page, each page following the first one needs to be numbered and needs to contain your name and contact information. (Again, consult some resume templates to see what multiple page resumes should look like so that you can model your multiple page resume after such templates.) And remember, just because you may be applying for work at home jobs, this does not mean you should short change yourself by writing a sub-par resume. Each resume you write should be as professional as possible.
